Short Weeks and Holidays

Hello All,

Missed getting my post out last week as I was out sick on Friday.

While we’ve been celebrating the holidays, the Grade 4 students have continued learning with enthusiasm!

In math, we’ve been working on rounding numbers, and the students reached a point where they were ready for a fun, full-class online challenge. In science, we’ve been busy preparing our habitat presentations. Students are working in pairs and will present their projects to their classmates later this week.

Both classes have also begun reading The Wild Robot as part of our class novel study—what an amazing book!

As our Grade 4s grow more comfortable using laptops and their Google accounts, we’re excited to have a special workshop with Mrs. Thompson today to support their digital learning.

Tomorrow is Orange Shirt Day, where we wear orange to show our support and understanding of the injustices shown to our Canadian Indigenous peoples.

Sounds like such an exciting week of learning in Grade 4!

I love how the students are blending fun challenges with important skills in math and science, and The Wild Robot is such a fantastic choice for sparking curiosity and discussion.

Looking forward to seeing the creativity shine through in the habitat presentations!
