Faye Mellenthin

I started teaching in 2013 after completing a BA Honours degree in English and History at Leeds Beckett University in Leeds, UK then completed a Post Graduate certificate in Education at Durham University, UK gaining qualified teaching status. Combining main stream teaching with special education training, I thoroughly enjoyed 5 years of inclusive English teaching and pastoral guidance.

I joined the OJCS in February 2018 (after a life changing relocation to Canada!) and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I love being part of a teaching staff that provides such creative, engaging and immersive learning experiences for the children in our school. Taking on the role of educational assistant has allowed me to really engage with all students and help guide them on their OJCS journey.

Outside of school, I still enjoy learning and take every opportunity to visit historical places and museums. I am also a keen baker and try my best to recreate recipes from the Great British Bake Off, with varying degrees of success…
