Verb test- Extended French

There will be a verb test on the verbs ,

être, avoir, aller and faire.

There will be 3 components to the test.

Part 1. Fill-in-the-blank using the correct verb.

Part 2: Translate the sentences from English to French.

Part 3: Create ten different sentences using a mix of pronouns and verbs.

A study/review packet was handed out in the class, and there are many verb games from Francais Facile posted to this blog.

Please let me know if there are any questions.

    Hello Mr Polowin
I am Micah’s Bubby and have been working with him 3 times a week for 45 mins studying French. He seems to be getting the 4 verb conjugation, but I want to make sure that he understands directions for the test. I have been doing every stencil with him for avoir and etre and making him write sentences. Can you let me know how I should help him for next week’s test and how you see his progress. If I know what kind of tests you give, I can help with preparing him. Thanks for your help..
(It’s a good thing I was a teacher at Hillel Academy, and grew up in Quebec and speak French 😊)

      Hello Mrs Prehogan,

Thank you for the message (and for reviewing the material with Micah). The quizes have 3 components.

Part 1: Verb conjugation with fill-in-the-blank questions.
Part 2: Translate the sentences from English into French.
Part 3: Create ten sentences using the verbs studied this term. I also ask the students to use a variety of pronouns.

I will post a quiz on the blog so that you can see the layout. It is the Grade 3 avoir quiz, but I follow the same format for Grade 3.

      Thanks again and Shabbat Shalom.

      Aaron
