Science exploration update: SOUND!

We started our new Science unit of Sound. Our focus looks at properties of sound, sound movement through different mediums and an exploration of the sound vibration through the ear.

At the start of class 4B, we had a special guest teacher… Morah Kayla! She took her learning beyond the classroom and brought in filters to show the class:

You should buy a book and you should buy a book…. everyone should buy a book!

If you follow our school’s social media accounts, you’ve probably heard the news that we are indeed having a Scholastic Book Fair this year.  It will be held in person for our students, and virtually for their parents and other family members and friends.

In-person for STUDENTS: November 22-26th

Virtual for PARENTS, FAMILY MEMBERS, and FRIENDS OF THE OJCS: November 22-December 3rd.  The virtual link is HERE!

I will be in touch to let you know the specific date of your child’s visit to the fair so that they can be prepared.

There will also be teacher wish lists shared out so that parents can purchase books for their child’s teachers or send their child to school with extra money to pick out a wish list item for their teachers.

These fairs are very important fundraisers for the school and the goal this year is to use the funds to purchase important French teaching materials and books.

Thank you for supporting The OJCS!
